Awards & Entry Fees
Beauty Competition (Mandatory)
Entry Fee $30.00
There will be a QUEEN, PRINCESS, & DUTCHESS and 1st & 2nd Runner up chosen in EACH girls division and a KING, PRINCE AND DUKE and 1st & 2nd Runner up in each of the boys divisions. The winners will receive a Beautiful Trophy, Crown or (Sceptor or Plaque) for the boys and Title Sash and in addition will advance to the 2009 Kentucky Festival State Finals this November in Lexington, KY.
NO INTERVIEWS. If you have questions regarding the competition or need help getting prepared please call the director on the front of the information packet.
OPTIONALS (PRETTIEST EYES, BEST DRESSED AND PHOTOGENIC)
Entry Fee $5.00 each
There will be a winner chosen in each of the divisions (no runners-up for the optionals) for each of the optionals. The winners in each of the optional events will each receive a Trophy. Prettiest Eyes and Best Dressed will be judged at the time you take your beauty walk & Photogenic will be judged from the Photo’s that you submitted during pre-registration.
Photo’s should be no larger than an 8x10 and no smaller than a 2x3. May be color or black & white YOUR CHOICE. No Frames Please! Your photo’s will be returned as soon as the competition is over. Please be sure to put your child’s name and age division on the back of the photos. Photo’s DO NOT have to be professional
JUST FOR FUN CATAGORIES:
(YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE BEAUTY PAGEANT TO ENTER THESE CATAGORIES) THESE ARE OPEN TO EVERYONE NOT JUST PAGEANT CONTESTANTS
Parent/Child look-a-like contest: Get those parents on stage! Judges choose a winner and runner up pair with the most facial similarities for a trophy! You can dress alike if you’d like ~ this is judged after the last age division of the day competes, no side awards will be given.
SCRAPBOOK PAGE CONTEST ($5.00 per page up to 5 pages) Be Creative and enter your best scrapbook page into this fun contest. Winner and runner-up will receive a trophy.
PARTICIPATION Certificates or medals or trophies will be given to all (Just for Fun Contestants) THAT DO NOT PLACE
ALL CONTESTANTS THAT COMPETE in the Beauty Pageant AND DO NOT PLACE or win an optional title will take home a participation medal or trophy. No child will go home empty handed. You are all WINNERS.
Attire
You will need only one outfit in order to compete in this competition. Girls 0-12 Years old Sunday Best/Casual Wear/Play Wear (NO PAGEANT WEAR FOR 0-12 YEAR OLD GIRLS (points deduction for breaking the rules regarding attire NO EXCEPTIONS), and Girls Age 13 & up Pageant Wear ONLY. No Purses. Boys: Sunday Best/Casual Wear/Play Wear (No Hats or Gloves for both boys or girls.) PLEASE DRESS ACCORDING TO WHAT WE HAVE STATED ABOVE, NO FAKE HAIR, EYELASHES, AGE APPROPRIAT MAKE-UP ONLY THIS IS A NATURAL PAGEANT. PLEASE REMEMBER IF YOU DO NOT FOLLOW THE RULES YOU WILL RECEIVE POINT DEDUCTIONS ON YOUR SCORE SHEETS. SO PLEASE FOLLOW THE RULES SO THAT THIS WILL NOT BE AN ISSUE.
Admission
Adults: $2.00 Child: $1.00 12 and Over, children 11 and Under Free
Everyone must pay admission except for the contestant and one parent. The pageant is self supporting and the entry fees and door admissions fees go toward awards, judges, advertisement, fire department donation and decorations.
How To Enter and Where To Enter:
You can call the Director to make arrangements to register.
IF WE HAVE ENOUGH INTEREST WE CAN ADD AN 8-10 YEAR OLD DIVISION. (WE MUST HAVE AT LEAST 3 CONTESTANTS TO DO SO)
ALSO WE WOULD LIKE TO ASK THAT THE 2009 MISS & MS. SHINING STARS WINNER'S REPORT THE THE DEPOSIT BANK & TRUST PARKING LOT TO ASSIST IN CROWNING THE 2009 MR. & MRS. SUMMERSVILLE DAYS WINNER AND RUNNERS-UP.
All runners up in each age division will receive a custom trophy.
ALL WINNERS ARE ENCOURAGED BUT NOT REQUIRED TO RIDE IN THE SUMMERSVILLE DAYS PARADE FOLLOWING THE PAGEANT.

Parents may go on the stage with children who can or will not go alone. NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY AND ANYONE CAN ENTER. The Pageant is Open to ALL.
**ALL JUDGES DECISIONS ARE FINAL. (NO EXCEPTIONS) IF THERE IS A TIE, IT WILL BE BROKEN IN FACIAL BEAUTY. YOUR CHILD MAY HAVE TO RETURN TO THE STAGE TO BREAK A TIE. GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP IS EXPECTED AT ALL TIMES, OR YOUR CHILD WILL BE DISQUALIFIED**
MOST COMPETITIONS WILL LAST 2 - 3 HOURS OR LONGER IF NECESSARY FROM THE TIME IT BEGINS UNTIL THE CROWING IS OVER (THESE TIMES ARE APPROXIMATE, PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT WE CAN NOT TELL YOU EXACTLY WHEN THE PAGEANT WILL END OR WHAT TIME TO BE THERE AS WE ARE WORKING WITH CHILDREN OF ALL AGES AND IT IS VERY HARD TO SAY HOW LONG A DIVISION WILL TAKE TO COMPLETE). WE WILL CROWN THE WINNERS AND RUNNERS-UP AS WELL AS ALL OPTIONAL WINNERS AFTER EACH DIVISION
IF YOU ARE A WINNER YOU WILL NEED TO CONTACT THE DIRECTOR OF THE PAGEANT SO THAT I CAN GET YOUR NAME AND ADDRESS TO SUBMIT IT TO THE KENTUCKY STATE PAGEANT ASSOCIATION SO THAT YOU CAN RECEIVE YOUR STATE COMPETITION PACKET INFORMATION.
