My name is Elizabeth Dotson and I am the Director of the Shining Stars Pageant. This is my 4th year as the Director. I was asked to put on a pageant in conjunction the Summersville Fun Day's Festival. I truly enjoy doing this pageant although it is very time consuming and a lot of work. I do this for fun and for the children. I have and always will continue as long as I am the Director to make this pageant one that people enjoy and want to compete in.
There are, however things that happen that are beyond my control that come up and if you have ever competed or directed a pageant you know what I am talking about. Last year we were running behind on getting the pageant started and of course there were some complaints. I would like to address this issue and hope that everyone understands that I am sorry that this happened but the reasons were unavoidable. Several of my helpers did not show up or something came up that caused them to not be available as schedule and the ones that did worked as hard as they could to get everything going. Things happen that are beyond my control and believe me I am just as stressed and upset about it as anyone.
I also want you to know that if you ever have a problem that needs addressing I am available for you, look me up at the pageant or call me I will gladly listen to any concerns that you have. Suggestion are always welcome. However, you must understand that I can not satisfy everyone I do what I think is fair and reasonable. Unfortunately not everyone likes or is satisfied with the way every pageant is ran and I have come to realize that no matter what, I can not change this there will be some that do not like my pageant or have problems with the way things are done and I have decided that the best thing for me to do run my pageant the way I always have. I hope that you will continue to support and participate in the Shining Stars pageant and if you choose not to I wish you the Best of Luck in all of your pageant endeavors.
